Rules & regs

The full by-laws and operating rules are available below. The summary on this page is a quick orientation, not a substitute for the documents themselves.

Club documents

What members agree to

Currency and checkouts

Every flying member completes a checkout with a club-approved instructor before acting as pilot in command, plus recurrent training as required by the by-laws and FAR 61.56/61.57.

Scheduling

Reserve the airplane in FlightCircle, our online scheduler. Cancel promptly if plans change so other members can use the time. Multi-day trips are welcome — you are an owner here, not a renter.

Billing

Flight time is billed on Tach time at the posted hourly rate, which is wet — fuel is included. Insurance is carried by the club and funded by an annual assessment. Dues are due monthly; delinquent accounts lose flying privileges until settled.

Airport access

N2223R is based at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (KCHA). Ramp access requires a badge issued by Chattanooga Airport Security, which flying members obtain after acceptance.

Maintenance and squawks

Report every discrepancy to the maintenance officer immediately, in writing. Never fly an aircraft with an open airworthiness squawk. Keep receipts for any fuel or oil purchased away from home base for reimbursement.

Care of the aircraft

Leave the airplane cleaner than you found it: hangar or tie down properly, install the control lock and covers, secure the keys, and top the tanks per club policy.

Safety culture

No pressure, ever. If weather, the airplane or you are not up to the flight, cancel — nobody in this club will second-guess that decision.
